Status of the Kingdom- Pt. 1
Along the stretching stone corridors flew the chimes of the evening bells. Each note carried quite clearly from one end of the castle to the other; aided on by the many rounded hallways carefully constructed for this very purpose. The rebounding sound startled many of the birds who tended to hide in any warm, unattended place to build their nests away from the typically chilly outside air. Some resisted and firmly refused to give up their roost against the ever present chiming for they had become accustomed to this particular clamor. Yet today even those battle-hardened birds took flight at the arrival of another echoing uproar; this one quite unfamiliar to any of them.
"Do your masters still feel the need to change the customs every time one of us visits their fine court? I surrendered my armor to you out of respect for the Four Lords. My right hand blade I surrendered as a sign of fealty and trust, a sign the Knights have always freely given to those we share this country with. Yet n

Ranmyaku Garandou is the leader of a band of "pirates" that plague the land of Kotengu and captain of her own vessel, the Mononoke (Specter). She began life as a samurai serving the Empress of Kotengu and joined their main military branch just as the war with their neighboring country Aidespar was beginning. Ranmyaku's unit was sent in on a scouting missing into enemy territory only to find themselves in a town whose reality was warped so far that the skies were cast orange and teal. They were ambushed by a horde of demonic creatures with Ranmyaku escaping into the woods in a severely injured state.
She escaped the demons but found herself snared in a hunter's trap and unable to free herself due to the injuries. As she lay in the forest immobile for hours the ground became tainted as the same Chaos that infected the village spread over the land. This

It was in the moment of that sickening realization that I realized suddenly that I was not alone in that room anymore. Looking up towards the doorway I saw the store owner standing there; the bloody apron still draped over her dress. I could not clearly see her eyes for several strands of hair had fallen in front of them, vaguely reminding me of Constable's own eye curtain. Her knife wasn't anywhere to be seen, which I took as a good sign. At worst it appeared I was about to get a lecture and lose my status as "good dog" in the eyes of one more human. Which I could easily live with. It wasn't until the unnaturally melodic giggle that I knew I was in far more trouble.
"Silly doggie. Mischievous doggie. You know doggies like you shouldn't be playing around in places like this right? You've been very, very naughty..." I found myself quite unsure which disturbed me more, her slightly disembodied speaking voice or that unnatural quivering her hair was doing.
As the wom

Azure Dawn: Chapter 1
Only the rhythmic rattling of an overhead fan and the occasional clink of glass resounded in the bar that morning. Even though the blinds were drawn tightly shut small rays of light managed to penetrate through and provide a small form of illumination. Several tables filled the floor with chairs turned upside down upon their faces, each one arranged symmetrically as though on display at an art gallery. A row of seven chairs in the very back sat as a center piece to this unusual exhibit; lined up directly in front of the serving bar for customers who preferred to watch their drink being made. Or for those who wished to have a direct word with the host.
One of these chairs was currently marked for this purpose; a long brown coat signaling the seat's state of occupation. Despite being at the far end of the bar bits of light still managed to provide a miniscule form of illumination for the man seated there. It allowed him the momentary distraction of reading the ingre

Fleeting rays from dusk's glory illuminated the forest outside the steel carriage's window, albeit hard to tell one tree from another as all the green blurred into one amalgamation. Hanging slightly out the window and letting the wind pass over me with its cool caress always made the trip go better. Although hitting my head squarely on the window top for every pothole the Master managed to hit stole some of that pleasure. After the third round of this I withdrew my head and growled at him.
"Are you still half asleep? Most people try to at least go around the sunken earth, rather than intentionally put themselves through a carnival ride from hell."
The only response I received was a hand on the head with a small scratch on the right ear, followed by the usual cajoling manner.
"Easy Reaver, just try to take it a little while longer. Be a good boy and don't growl in my ear while driving, unless you want me to hit more of these blasted craters."
A snort with my nose in
Ominous- Jeff The Killer x Reader Ch.9"What are you doing?" You glared at Jeff, pulling away from him roughly.
"I was about to do some killing!"
"I can't let you do this. I was the one who dragged you into this."
He said, looking at the ground angrily.
"Well, you're not the boss now are you? I have orders, and I intend on following them."
"But you know this isn't what you want." Jeff growled. "Once you kill, there's no going back. Your mind becomes tainted, and you're seen as a monster to the world.
"You don't know what I want. My entire life changed when I ran into you. I've accepted my fate. Why can't you?" You chided.
Jeff couldn't understand. Of course you knew the sacrifice you were about to make, but there were only two options:
Kill or be killed.
You shrugged and turned to leave, but Jeff wasn't finished. He grabbed your arm and stopped you.
"You shouldn't do this. Try to think clearly!" Jeff had a strange tone in his voice, like concern. It was not like him at all.
"Since when did you start caring about me? L
Words Of GuiltSlowly Donnie snuck through the lair, doing his best to be as silent as he possibly could so no one would know he was sneaking out. while he was sure everyone was asleep he still had to be cautious with how he moved so as not to make a sound, a result of living with a family of ninjas. Once he was sure no one was watching him Donnie turned and scurried out of the lair, moving down the tunnel that led to the nearby subway tunnel. His foot had just moved to step into the subway when he felt someone grab his shoulder, pull him back and shove him against the wall.
He lashed out, trying to strike the person who had grabbed him only to feel the person grab his wrist and twist before pinning his arm against his chest.
"Where are you going Donnie?"
Raph's voice was low and vaguely threatening. Donnie did his best to seem unafraid.
"n...none of your business!"
he lashed out with his other hand, connecting with the side of Raph's face making the red banded turtle stumbled backwards a bit. Donnie
The Fox and the Bat: Role-Play
The once black night sky was slowly disappearing to reveal a red, orange and then yellow set of hues over the horizon in the distance. For many creatures, they were already near their home, so all they had to do was scurry, slither or walk into their place. However, for a certain fruitbat, it would take a while to fly back. Jess, the bat, cursed inwardly for having flown out this far in the first place, but she had been craving to get an orange from the grove. Well, she knew she had to pay the price by being late to get back home, but it was worth trying out that sweet yet rare fruit for her. She at least had put one orange about the size of her body in her feet claws, but she wondered if she'd be able to carry it the whole way.
Another problem, although, were her wings. Jess had been using them the whole night it seemed. With a groan, she glanced down into the trees below. Maybe stopping a moment wouldn't be too bad. She carefully flew down in ther

He tried to focus, tried to clear his mind of all distractions like splinter had taught him too. He tried to take deep breaths, tried to relax. But nothing helped. Sighing Leo opened his eyes, his shoulders slumping as he ran his hand over his face. it wasn’t often he got scared, really scared. yet today, when they had faced shredder for the first time…..that had scared him. He’d panicked, lost his focus and……his heart clenched as he remembered the look of terror on his secret mate’s face as the large marquee letter had fallen down on top of him. His heart thundered in his chest as he remembered the panic and dread that had gripped his mind and body making his scream and claw at the large metal letter trying to pull it off Mikey. He’d felt relief flood his body when Mikey had emerged from under the letter, his body covered in dust and dirt but seeming to be ok.
Sighing again Leo did his best to calm his thundering heart. Mikey was ok, yes

All Brawnafiers appeared to have been taken off of the market. After a few months of the product disappearing, the Power Company, under heavy scrutiny of the government began creating a series of NuBrawnafiers, which had severely limited capabilities in comparison to the original model.

Vengeance: Chapter 1"Don't need a damn babysitter," Desmond muttered under his breath, wearing the distracted scowl of a person still steamed from an argument. Having already stumbled more than once in his agitated haste along the dark passageway, he kept his eyes trained on the floor. It was such a hassle--having to walk everywhere. God, he missed flying.
But the loss of flight was nothing compared to what his community had lost as a whole.
He clenched his jaw and squeezed his eyes shut, trying not to think about it--about any of it. His eyes snapped open promptly when he stumbled again.
His lantern was fashioned from a "small" bullet-shaped lightbulb--about as long as his arm and few times as wide. A bare copper wire nearly as thick as one of his fingers wrapped around the metal end and looped up to serve as a handle. He came to a stop when he found the loose spot in floor molding that led into the motel room he was looking for.
Desmond didn't venture out right away. He leaned close to the loose
WORDS from theives
Silently they moved through the sewer running through tunnel after tunnel until they found the one Donnie was looking for.
“Is this it?”
Donnie nodded and looked up the ladder that was built into the wall leading up to the surface.
“Yeah……This is it.”
Starting to climb up the ladder Donnie paused as they reached the top and his hands pressed against the cold material of the manhole cover. Taking a deep breath Donnie pushed, grunting and heaving with the effort to lift the 45 pound manhole cover. Shoving the cover to the side Donnie clambered out of the tunnel and stepped aside for Raph to follow, watching as his brother swung himself up and out of the tunnel.
Looking around they found themselves standing in an alley way. On either side of them crumbling buildings and rusted fire escapes met their vision. Further down the alley they could hear the sounds of the city, cars honking, people talking, going about their own lives, blissfully unaware of the

Our teenage friend and I blasted away at training droids wielding electrostaffs. "Great shooting!", I complimented.
"Thanks!", nodded the blonde as he fired his rifle.
"What's your name, anyway?", asked Doctor Whooves.
"Hallock.", he smirked. "Guardian Soldier. Private first class."
"Well, after your heroics today, don't expect to be a private any longer.", grinned Derpy.
"Come on, everyone.", blurted Doc. "The main antennae is just up these stairs." We cautiously ascended into the control room. Computers and datascreens lined the walls while a massive needle pointed up and out of the building. "Bingo."
I shot a twitching droid for good measure and accessed the antennae's terminal. "Alright Doc. Looks like the virus hasn't made its way into the antennae's mainframe yet

Poetic PsychosisIn thirty seconds, the next shell would fall. Every night was the same, but every night Lorenzo experienced it as if it were the first time. His throat felt swollen; breathing was hard. He glanced around at the others; young men like him who had been shipped out in the name of honour and freedom. There was no honour in this, no freedom. Only death behind your eyelids, and a fear so gutting, that it carved out your innards and left you a hollow husk. Lorenzo tried to breathe, tried to assure himself that he was still whole, still made of flesh. They had lied when they told him he was ready.
Matteo ran towards him, arms out, rifle swinging uselessly at his side. He shouted for him to run, but Lorenzo remained motionless, unable to move as his friend’s warning was lost in the constant blare of gunfire. None of them were ready.
“The cycle is repeating. It is not safe.” The voice was soft and weak, yet it carried over the gunfire and battle cries without impediment.
