Ranmyaku Garandou is the leader of a band of "pirates" that plague the land of Kotengu and captain of her own vessel, the Mononoke (Specter). She began life as a samurai serving the Empress of Kotengu and joined their main military branch just as the war with their neighboring country Aidespar was beginning. Ranmyaku's unit was sent in on a scouting missing into enemy territory only to find themselves in a town whose reality was warped so far that the skies were cast orange and teal. They were ambushed by a horde of demonic creatures with Ranmyaku escaping into the woods in a severely injured state.
She escaped the demons but found herself snared in a hunter's trap and unable to free herself due to the injuries. As she lay in the forest immobile for hours the ground became tainted as the same Chaos that infected the village spread over the land. This

It was in the moment of that sickening realization that I realized suddenly that I was not alone in that room anymore. Looking up towards the doorway I saw the store owner standing there; the bloody apron still draped over her dress. I could not clearly see her eyes for several strands of hair had fallen in front of them, vaguely reminding me of Constable's own eye curtain. Her knife wasn't anywhere to be seen, which I took as a good sign. At worst it appeared I was about to get a lecture and lose my status as "good dog" in the eyes of one more human. Which I could easily live with. It wasn't until the unnaturally melodic giggle that I knew I was in far more trouble.
"Silly doggie. Mischievous doggie. You know doggies like you shouldn't be playing around in places like this right? You've been very, very naughty..." I found myself quite unsure which disturbed me more, her slightly disembodied speaking voice or that unnatural quivering her hair was doing.
As the wom

Azure Dawn: Chapter 1
Only the rhythmic rattling of an overhead fan and the occasional clink of glass resounded in the bar that morning. Even though the blinds were drawn tightly shut small rays of light managed to penetrate through and provide a small form of illumination. Several tables filled the floor with chairs turned upside down upon their faces, each one arranged symmetrically as though on display at an art gallery. A row of seven chairs in the very back sat as a center piece to this unusual exhibit; lined up directly in front of the serving bar for customers who preferred to watch their drink being made. Or for those who wished to have a direct word with the host.
One of these chairs was currently marked for this purpose; a long brown coat signaling the seat's state of occupation. Despite being at the far end of the bar bits of light still managed to provide a miniscule form of illumination for the man seated there. It allowed him the momentary distraction of reading the ingre

Fleeting rays from dusk's glory illuminated the forest outside the steel carriage's window, albeit hard to tell one tree from another as all the green blurred into one amalgamation. Hanging slightly out the window and letting the wind pass over me with its cool caress always made the trip go better. Although hitting my head squarely on the window top for every pothole the Master managed to hit stole some of that pleasure. After the third round of this I withdrew my head and growled at him.
"Are you still half asleep? Most people try to at least go around the sunken earth, rather than intentionally put themselves through a carnival ride from hell."
The only response I received was a hand on the head with a small scratch on the right ear, followed by the usual cajoling manner.
"Easy Reaver, just try to take it a little while longer. Be a good boy and don't growl in my ear while driving, unless you want me to hit more of these blasted craters."

Personality/Background: Perhaps one of the oldest Apthemites in existence, Alieta was also one of the most powerful. Quickly ascending to a matriarchal role in keeping Apthemy society organized she heralded a relatively peaceful millennium, until the corruption of Apthemy (which happened perhaps once or twice a decade) suddenly became a mild epidemic. Alieta used her powers to contain and purify many of those affected but doing so made her personally vulnerable. Shortly after Alieta herself was completely over taken by the corruption and became a malevolent force unrivaled by any other. The transformation turned the once kind and wise Alieta into a mind filled with dire schemes and frightening powers of manip

Adair Sorcery: When the Adair family's name first appeared in history, it was that of a few sorcerer's whose great powers turned the tide in a battle for Viveka itself. This brand of sorcery is unlike any other in recorded history, as its operating mode is highly intriguing to those who have been granted the privelage of studying it. Currently what is known about Adair Sorcery is as follows: First, it utilizes a special language all of it's own which is composed of several very short sounds. When spoken in an incantation, the listener is given the impression that the caster is speaking words at a rate far that exceeding normal human speech. One listener of sharp hearing discerned that within one minute, nearly 5000 seperate words were spoken throughout the incantation. In fact those of the Adair family go through intense verbal and tonal training to ensure their capasity to handle this special power. Secondly, the power itself seems to have no set form and varries from per

Background: Alia was born into a family of Artificiers (people in this world who gather and manage ancient artifacts). However because of this her parents died when she was 14, lost in an accident on a ruin site. As a memento of her parents, Alia uses a set of wooden tonfas, the very weapons used by her late father. Despite this Alia applied for her Artificier license when she was 16, thanks to the training of her grandfather (whom she also lives with in place of her parents). After obtaining her license successfully, Alia met Zeron through her grandfather and became partners with him. It was during this time as well that Zeron gave her a silver pendant for her 16th birthday, a memento Alia never lets leave her side (she does the same with her tonfas) As an Artificier, Alia's family name is only well known
Fearless: Chapter Three
It wasn’t until the bell of a massive glass door rang out that Ellie snapped out of her thoughts. She grew very aware of the skin of a stranger pressing against her own sleeveless arms, so she teetered forward, hoping to get away from it as much as possible. Then again, she was sitting in someone’s hand. He was touching her, whether either of them liked it or not. Taking a deep breath, Ellie ignored her thundering heart and raised her voice.
“Could you maybe...like...put me down?” Shaking violently, the girl managed to balance herself on her knees, grabbing for the giant thumb that hung near her like the bar that fastens one in to a roller coaster car. The first thing she noticed as her air-condition-chilled arms wrapped around the appendage was how very warm it was. Curious, her fingers began to explore the small area they spanned across, feeling the lines and curves and smooth and rough grooves of a colossal fingerprint.
Evric was certainly aware of the
Fearless: Chapter Four
Evric had zipped his jacket almost all the way up, leaving a small gap so that he could hold Ellie against his chest, the flaps of the jacket and his hand covering her from the drenching rain.
Ellie’s heart was pounding in rhythm with Evric’s gargantuan footsteps, yet she felt safe and warm in his grasp for once. Yes, the wind was still tossing her reddish-brown hair into her face, but every other part of her was covered.
Tired of having to squint, Ellie faced the wall of warm blue shirt fabric. She let her knuckles go white as they grabbed at it, and then she burrowed hard against what she briefly forgot was Evric. That was, until she felt his larger-than-life heart softly pummeling against her, shaking her to the core but also calming her.
His fingers curled firmly but tenderly around her, allowing her to relax without the worry that she might fall. She was comfortably curled up, leaning against the taren’s warm body, but at the same time she was anxious.
The Teacher's Assistant--France x Male!Reader-PT3
Previously: '"Alright,it's a date then!" Francis smiled before waving goodbye. "See you then!" (M/N) stood there, mouth agape.
"I-IT'S NOT A DATE!" But the happy Frenchman had already ohonhon-ed his way back to his car.
Francis drummed his fingers on the table, anticipating (M/N)'s arrival. Oh (M/N)...the sweet, new assistant. He's the luckiest person ever to have such a cute little assistant! And if he's still stressed out, they can go to his place and get rid of some stress...ohon~
Francis knows that (M/N) doesn't think of this as a date, and neither does he honestly. It's just lunch. He just liked the reaction that he knew he'd get from the (H/C) haired man. Even if this isn't a date, Francis is determined to get (M/N) to love him...or at least like him!
The door of the diner opened with a ring and Francis looked up hopefully. Nope. It was just a different person. His hopes were shrinking after waiting for so long. Maybe he de
Practically Kidnapped ch1Ch1. Why couldn't it have been money?
Last week was a good week. My mom and I went to the market to buy a few things and it was over all a fun trip. I liked it. Who wouldn't, though? Sifting through random stuff that doesn't belong to you, silently judging others based on what they bought and are undoubtably going to throw away later. It's great, really.
But this week... Mom was too happy, too excited. Hell, she was always excited, but this morning she flew into my room, not literally, at least, but she pulled me out of bed with the biggest smile on her face. I thought we had won a million dollars or something. Ooooh how I wish it had been a million dollars. Maybe just a hundred...not sure why she'd be excited about a hundred, but hey.
"Get dressed, pack a bag," she yelled, releasing me to pull out a floral backpack and an ugly black suitcase from the depths of my closet. I barely had time to wet my lips, readying myself to ask a questio
Hans : Phoenix of the Southern Isles - Sneak Peek
Princess Anna followed the peculiar sounds down the stairs. "Hello?", she wondered. "Olaf? Sven?" She lit a candle as a figure was illuminated in front of her. The princess gasped before dropping her candle, sending it crashing to the ground.
"This way!", urged the Arendelle captain as his soldiers joined in. "The sound came from over here!" The men's boots stomped across the hall as one of the doors swung open. They watched as Vita barged through, holding Princess Anna hostage with a flintlock pistol. The soldiers drew their swords and stood ready.
"Back up!", barked Vita as she twisted the gun's nozzle against the side of Anna's head. "Now!" Anna winced at the pressure. "I'll shoot her. You know I will! Back! NOW!"
The men looked at each other, slowly backing up as Vita made her way down the adjacent hall. "Elsa!", hopelessly cried Anna. She then elbowed her attacker in the chest and threw a punch.
