Status of the Kingdom- Pt. 1
Along the stretching stone corridors flew the chimes of the evening bells. Each note carried quite clearly from one end of the castle to the other; aided on by the many rounded hallways carefully constructed for this very purpose. The rebounding sound startled many of the birds who tended to hide in any warm, unattended place to build their nests away from the typically chilly outside air. Some resisted and firmly refused to give up their roost against the ever present chiming for they had become accustomed to this particular clamor. Yet today even those battle-hardened birds took flight at the arrival of another echoing uproar; this one quite unfamiliar to any of them.
"Do your masters still feel the need to change the customs every time one of us visits their fine court? I surrendered my armor to you out of respect for the Four Lords. My right hand blade I surrendered as a sign of fealty and trust, a sign the Knights have always freely given to those we share this country with. Yet n

Ranmyaku Garandou is the leader of a band of "pirates" that plague the land of Kotengu and captain of her own vessel, the Mononoke (Specter). She began life as a samurai serving the Empress of Kotengu and joined their main military branch just as the war with their neighboring country Aidespar was beginning. Ranmyaku's unit was sent in on a scouting missing into enemy territory only to find themselves in a town whose reality was warped so far that the skies were cast orange and teal. They were ambushed by a horde of demonic creatures with Ranmyaku escaping into the woods in a severely injured state.
She escaped the demons but found herself snared in a hunter's trap and unable to free herself due to the injuries. As she lay in the forest immobile for hours the ground became tainted as the same Chaos that infected the village spread over the land. This
basiliskOnce there lived a basilisk.
He was lord over all the serpents not even the great sea serpents would challenge him for he bore in his blood a deadly poison. A single drop could soil any lake, poison all manner of beasts for miles around, cut down the grandest of forests, and drop the eagles from the skies. No beast dare enter his lair. None even drew close for fear of his poison blood, and his deadly stare, and for this reason Basilisk lord over all the serpents was lonely.
For years he wept his deadly tears under the shade of an old oak which quickly died from him being there. He mourned for all the beautiful creatures his breath had choked and pitied those who had watched their families fall to his deadly poison, for even drinking from a stream would draw the toxic infection from his lips, making the water undrinkable for anyone but himself.
He could not bear the thought of destroying so many lives so carelessly. He often asked himself, what calling would suit such a horrible creatur
No Wings on Daddy The two little girls giggled, wiggling and squirming till they were both sitting and in place. Bright blond curls and almost pink-red, wavy hair fell into almost identical faces as they looked at each other, grins on round baby faces.
The sisters sat side by side, the grey-blue cotton material bunching around their legging-covered legs. They had to clutch the collar of Daddy's shirt and lean back against his neck so that they didn't tumble down yet. Still gleefully grinning, Melody looked over at her sister when she heard her start to count. Suddenly getting an idea, she reached out and grabbed May's hand.
"Let's go!" Melody squealed and leaned forward.
She didn't hear her sister squeak in protest at getting pulled, but moments later, both of the little girls were laughing as they began their slide down. Melody had been the one to suggest trying to fly up onto Daddy's back, and had started their new game when she hadn't landed like she wanted to; her small wings had g
Words Of Healing (PART 1)From his corner of the room Leatherhead watched them. he’d followed them to their lair, continuing to carry Mikey in the bundle of blankets. Once there he’d been led into a room, Donnie’s lab; where he’d lain Mikey out on a table for Donnie to examine. He growled at Donnie, as the purple turtle had moved to touch Mikey. It wasn't an aggressive growl but a warning….. And now he watched. His eyes taking in everything as Donnie examined Mikey’s leg and shell; Donnie’s face becoming more and more worried the long her examined them.
Donnie’s voice shook as he looked to his brothers who seemed to know just badly Mikey was injured. Leo stepped forward, putting his hand on Donnie’s shoulder.
“Tell us what to do Donnie. How can we help?”
Looking back at Mikey Donnie took a deep breath before speaking, giving his brother’s directions to gather the supplies he would need. Taking another de
Wishful Thinking (Chapter 3)
If anyone were to call me a social, exciting, or fun kind of person…then they’d be wrong. Well, maybe not wrong, but these facts are unproven. I tend not to interact too much with others. I’m an introvert…I feel safest and most independent when I’m given space. It’s not that I don’t like other people and I too get lonely…but I just don’t like the feeling of other people breathing down my neck. I’m still polite to others and I still try to be kind to other people, but I usually keep to myself, and that’s just he way I am.
So you can imagine what kind of trouble Sapphire has been for me.
“Master, are you well?” She asked me for the third time that morning.
“How many times do I have to say it?” I asked in exasperation “I’m fine, Sapphire.”
“But you do nothing but sit and stare at the tel-e-vis-ion.” Sapphire moaned. “You act like a statue…unmoving.” She
THE LIVES WE LEAD (CHAPTER 10)CHAPTER 10
Mikey watched as Leo shut off the car’s engine before slowly turning to look out the window at the house in front of them. Mikey’s eyes scanned the slightly faded blue paint, the rose bushes that could do with some trimming, the windows which were covered in dust but were otherwise in good condition. The white fence that surrounded the front yard was well kept up, only in a few spots had the white paint flaked or chipped off. Slowly Mikey reached out to touch Leo’s hand.
“Leo……are you ok?”
He watched as Leo swallowed before speaking.
“My mother loved her rose bushes. After she died…….I tried to so hard to keep them alive. I watered and weeded them and worked until the thorns had cut my hands till they bled……but no matter what I did they just kept dying……I…..”
Leo broke off as he shifted to grip Mikey’s hand, his voice quivering with emotion as he continued to speak.
The Amber Room Mystery: Chapter 1Hannah Duffy pushed open the door to her room at the youth hostel. The 20-year-old redhead from Ireland was exhausted; the trek from the train station to the hostel had been longer than expected. She walked in, placed her backpack neatly on the floor at the foot of the nearest bed, and then collapsed on top of it.
A moment later, her traveling companion, 19-year-old Katrin Weber, stumbled into the room, and looked over the two remaining beds before plunking down on the one nearest the window. The blonde German girl wasted no time in slipping her feet out of the three-inch open-toed heels she had been wearing.
“Ugh,” she moaned, “my feet…are killing me…” She stretched her legs out, happy to give them a rest.
“I told you, Kat,” Hannah rebuked her, “that comfort is more important than fashion. But no, you never listen!” She slipped her hose-covered feet out of her blue sneakers. She reached dow
Royal Road Trip - Chapter: 30
Kai was sitting in the lobby when Gerda came rushing in. "You, are not going to believe this!"
The older servant chuckled, "I've seen a snowmonster attack the kingdom and take you hostage while a man in drag tried to talk him out of it. Try me."
Both he and Gerda joined a crowd looking out over the fjord. "I don't believe it.", said Kai with widened eyes.
A ship could be seen sailing into harbor with Elsa, Anna, and the others waving to applause. Upon docking, Anna ran down sighed, "Ahhh home sweet home."
"You and me both.", replied her sister.
"PRINCESS ANNA! QUEEEEEEN ELSA!", scolded Kai as both girls cringed. "You'd better have a good explanation for this prolonged absence! Anna, you asked for trouble, but Elsa, you should no better as queen."
Elsa stood tall. "Kai, as queen it is my duty to protect my family and the people of Arendelle. My sister did indeed ask for trouble...and it answered." She glared at Anna while she pouted. "And no one was going to save her

Chapter 3: Secrets of adjusting
If someone told me yesterday that I would turn into a mermaid then get attacked by some wolf creature only to be saved by my Principle and now laying in the back seat of her car with a mermaid tail, I would swear they were off their meds. And yet here I am, my principle driving her car with my bags of clothes that I just brought in the front passenger seat while I sat on the backseat laid across with my tail bent slightly to fit my full body inside. The entire time my eyes were straight on my principle as not just did she save me from that weird creature but place me in her and now we were making our way to our school. What exactly was she going to do to me? Experiment on me? Soon she parked in one of the car spots and turned off her car. I looked around not too sure what to say or do. As I turned to my principle, Joanne Kelly, no one could guess her age as she looks like she was in her late twenties but a

Saroja tapped her fingers together. She knew that Kalaghata really didn’t want to be in Andalusst right now. She nibbled at her lower lip, nervous.
The Kirlia wanted to bring up something that had happened last night, but she didn’t know if it would be worth… bringing up at all. It wasn’t like something that was worth mentioning had happened -- but the Ralts had once again been restless in his sleep, and eventually he had frustratedly stormed out of the house. Shortly thereafter, and before Saroja could follow him herself, Jezebel had darted down from the attic and gone outside herself.
Naturally, Narcissus wandered down after her, but he stayed inside, and Saroja, groggily, had sat up to look out the window.
She won’t be able to forget the image

five.Five is the number of times you worry he’s stopped breathing, as the surgeons carve around his heart, twisting away the plaque ridden arteries, and pulling a vein out of his leg. Five is the number of heart wrenching hours you and your family were waiting in the hospital room, worried that your lives would crumble, that there would be five members of the family instead of six, that five days out of the week he would not come home for dinner, that five kisses from him would no longer be given to his wife and four children. Five was the amount of fingernails you bit off while watching people enter and exit the waiting room, and the amount of minutes your mother spent on the phone, explaining that something was wrong. Five is the critical difference between holding a father’s hand as your mother cries into his heart shaped pillow. The difference between rejoicing and smiling weakly because he’s okay or carrying your father’s American-flag-covered-casket and watchin
